Converted Chapel, Shepherdswell

Project Overview

East Kent Renewables was tasked with implementing a sustainable energy solution for a historical building while maintaining its timeless charm. The goal was to incorporate integrated solar panels and energy storage without compromising the building’s aesthetic appeal.

Key Challenges

The challenges of this project included preserving the building’s historical character, seamlessly integrating a solar solution that complemented its existing architecture, and designing a cost effective system tailored to the homeowner’s energy needs rather than simply covering the roof with panels.

The Solution

We installed aesthetically pleasing integrated solar panels that complement the historical buliding’s design. These solar panels were carefully selected and mounted to blend into the roofline and exterior, ensuring minimal visual disruption.

To enhance the energy efficiency and reliability of the system, a Tesla Powerwall 2 was installed. The Powerwall not only provides off-grid backup power but also optimises energy usage by storing any excess of generated electricity and ensuring consistent power supply regardless of grid outages or fluctuations.
